Malaysia’s deputy PM urges king to pardon ex-PM Najib, who seeks house arrest after serving three years.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi urged the King to grant former Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak a royal pardon, stating he has already served three years in prison and deserves clemency.

The court is expected to decide on December 22 whether Najib can serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest, following a ruling that a prior royal addendum was not legally binding.
The final decision rests with the king, acting on advice from the Pardons Board.
