The 35th Chinese medical team in Zanzibar held a public health and cultural event at the State University of Zanzibar, promoting malaria prevention and traditional Chinese medicine. Public health expert Liu Yaobao delivered a lecture on malaria transmission, symptoms, and prevention using visual aids and real-world examples. TCM specialists Zhou Fang and Bai Xinyu presented on acupuncture’s history, philosophy, and medical uses, focusing on pain management and chronic illness. Students participated in hands-on practice of auricular acupressure, cupping, and electroacupuncture using an English-language video guide. The event attracted strong interest from attendees and was praised by university vice chancellor Mohammed Makame Haji, who expressed support for future collaboration.
