China to export chilled pork to Singapore, starting with Hunan shipments, aiming to meet half of Singapore’s annual demand.
China will begin exporting chilled pork to Singapore for the first time, following a 2024 agreement after Singapore lifted its import ban due to African swine fever.
Hunan Province is the sole Chinese region approved to export chilled, frozen, and processed pork, with Hunan Huale Foodstuff Co. Ltd. as the only registered exporter.
Shipments are expected within a month, aiming to supply half of Singapore’s annual chilled pork demand—about 70,000 tonnes—within two years.
Hunan officials are enhancing biosecurity, and Huale is supported by Hunan New Wellful Co. Ltd., which supplies additional hogs and disease prevention expertise.
