The incident took place during a pursuit when the officer used a spike strip to disable the vehicle. The rider sustained serious injuries but survived. The Ontario Provincial Police concluded there was no misconduct, citing the officer’s actions were consistent with policy and necessary for public safety. The findings were released on December 19, 2025.
