Modi visits West Bengal Dec. 20 to launch NH-34 highway projects and campaign ahead of elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit West Bengal on December 20, 2025, to inaugurate and lay the foundation for two NH-34 highway projects totaling Rs 3,200 crore. The upgrades include 66.7 km of four-laning from Barajaguli to Krishnanagar in Nadia and 17.6 km from Barasat to Barajaguli in North 24 Parganas, aiming to cut travel time between Kolkata and Siliguri by nearly two hours, improve traffic flow, and boost regional economic growth and cross-border trade. He will also address a public gathering in Ranaghat, criticizing the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead of state elections.
