A 41-year-old miner, Tyrone McLeod, died in a fall of ground incident at the Mosaic K3 potash mine near Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, on December 19, 2025.
McLeod, a father of two and longtime employee since 2014, was an active member of Unifor Local 892.
Unifor President Lana Payne called the death a preventable tragedy and pledged to fight for justice, demanding full participation in the ongoing investigation by Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety.
