Lockton to move its global HQ from Kansas City’s Plaza to Leawood’s $765M development, opening 2030.
Lockton, the world’s largest privately held insurance brokerage, plans to relocate its global headquarters from Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza to Leawood, Kansas, with the new 34-acre, $765 million mixed-use development set to open in 2030.
The facility will include a 12-story, 444,000-square-foot office building, with potential for an eight-story expansion, plus residential, retail, hotel, and childcare spaces.
The move, driven by growth and modernization needs, marks a significant shift for the firm, founded in 1966, which has operated in the Plaza since 2000.
While the company reaffirmed its pride in Kansas City roots, officials from both cities acknowledged the economic implications of the transition.
