India's health minister says doctors can work abroad but must acknowledge the country's improved medical infrastructure.
Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda told graduates at King George’s Medical University’s 21st convocation that doctors are free to work abroad but should no longer claim India lacks medical infrastructure.
He highlighted the expansion of AIIMS to 23 centers and praised the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which covers over 62 crore people.
Nadda emphasized that medical education is a privilege costing about ₹35 lakh per doctor and urged graduates to serve society, embrace technology, and find fulfillment in their work.
He commended KGMU’s global reputation and achievements in organ transplants.
