The Columbus Blue Jackets acquired forward Mason Marchment from the Seattle Kraken in a trade before the NHL’s holiday roster freeze, sending a 2027 second-round pick and a 2026 fourth-round pick to Seattle. Marchment, 30, has 80 goals and 202 points in 331 NHL games, with four goals and 13 points in 29 games this season. The move aims to strengthen Columbus’s forward depth and physical presence, while Seattle gains draft capital and cap space as Marchment enters the final year of his contract. The Blue Jackets also announced forward Brendan Gaunce has been designated non-roster due to personal reasons.
