The Bureau of Land Management has approved the Dry Piney helium and carbon sequestration project in Wyoming, developed by Blue Spruce Operating.
The project will extract over 800 million cubic feet of helium annually from natural gas, using nine wells and a new plant to separate helium for use in healthcare, semiconductors, space exploration, and industry.
It also includes carbon storage via underground injection.
Operations are set to begin in summer 2028.
