Youth in Hertfordshire vote on art to combat knife crime; winner displayed publicly.
Young people across Hertfordshire can vote in the final of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Knife Angel Art Competition, a campaign addressing knife crime through youth-created art.
Launched in October during the Knife Angel’s visit to Welwyn Garden City, the competition received submissions from schools and youth groups, including paintings, sculptures, poetry, and mixed media.
PCC Jonathan Ash-Edwards highlighted the emotional depth and strong participation, with three finalists selected.
Public voting runs until 4 p.m. on Monday, January 5, with the winning piece to be displayed publicly.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to prevent knife crime through youth engagement, education, and dialogue led by the PCC’s Youth Commission.
