UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano will not play in the Dec. 27 Fenway Bowl against Army, choosing instead to focus on NFL draft preparation and showcase events.
The 9-3 Huskies will face 6-6 Army at Fenway Park.
Fagnano, who threw for 3,448 yards and 28 touchdowns with one interception this season, was a Davey O’Brien semifinalist and earned All-American honors.
He cited family, coach, and teammate discussions in his decision.
Star receiver Skyler Bell, a first-team AP All-America, is also expected to skip the game.
