Two Navy sailors were killed in a Florida shooting; their husband, a sailor, was arrested.
A shooting in Orange Park, Florida, on Wednesday night killed two female Navy sailors and left a male sailor, Taylor Marques Lomax, 22, arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree murder. Authorities say Lomax opened fire during a heated argument between his wife and her two female roommates, both Navy personnel, in the Savannah Glen neighborhood, firing over 30 shots. The victims, Jordyn Forrestier, 20, and Noely Makenda, 21, were found dead in the front yard. Lomax’s wife called 9-1-1 and was released after questioning. The incident, which occurred around 11:30 p.m., shocked neighbors in the typically quiet area. Lomax is being held without bond, with a bond hearing scheduled for Friday. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is urging witnesses to contact authorities or use the SaferWatch app.
