Saint Francis Healthcare will transfer its Poplar Bluff campus to Missouri Highlands Health Care by January 30, 2026, converting it into a nonprofit, community-owned Federally Qualified Health Center.

Missouri Highlands will redirect USDA Rural Development funds from a canceled new construction project to the acquisition, accelerating the transition.
While most services will be available soon, lab and imaging services may have delays pending regulatory approval.
The change does not affect Saint Francis’s other Southeast Missouri facilities, and both organizations emphasize continuity of care and collaboration during the transition.
