Ram revives Dakota name for new midsize truck, launching after 2028 Jeep Wrangler refresh.
Ram has confirmed its new midsize truck for the U.S. will be called the Dakota, reviving the name last used in 2011.
Built alongside the Jeep Gladiator at the Toledo plant, the truck is expected to feature a body-on-frame design and may share platform elements with the Gladiator.
It will likely offer both internal combustion and range-extended electric powertrains, with pricing anticipated below the Ram 1500’s starting $41,575 and targeting the $30,000s to $40,000s range.
The vehicle is set to launch after the 2028 Jeep Wrangler refresh.
