Former pastor John Paul Miller indicted for cyberstalking and lying about monitoring his late wife, Mica Miller, whose 2024 suicide sparked federal charges and civil abuse claims.
John Paul Miller, a former South Carolina pastor, has been federally indicted on charges of cyberstalking and making false statements related to the 2024 suicide of his estranged wife, Mica Miller.
Prosecutors allege he harassed her from November 2022 until her death, including posting her nude photo online, placing tracking devices on her vehicle, sending over 50 messages in one day, damaging her tires, and interfering with her finances.
He is accused of lying to investigators about hiring a private investigator, claiming it was to prevent her from buying a gun, but prosecutors say it was to monitor her for alleged infidelity.
Evidence includes a tire deflation device purchase and messages about her car.
Miller, not in custody, faces up to five years in prison for cyberstalking and two years for false statements, along with fines up to $250,000.
His arraignment is set for January 12, 2026.
The case has prompted civil lawsuits accusing Miller and his father of sexual abuse within religious organizations, which they deny.
