Erika Cruz pulled from title fight vs. Amanda Serrano after clenbuterol test; Serrano now faces Reina Tellez.
Erika Cruz has been removed from her January 3 unified featherweight title fight against Amanda Serrano due to an atypical VADA test result showing clenbuterol, prompting Team Serrano and promoters to cancel the bout over fairness concerns.
Serrano will now face undefeated 22-year-old Reina Tellez, a San Antonio fighter with a 13-0-1 record and strong amateur roots, on short notice in Puerto Rico.
Tellez, who admires Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez, called the fight a lifelong dream.
Serrano, a 37-year-old Puerto Rican champion with 47 wins and 31 knockouts, said she remains committed to defending her titles and promoting women's boxing.
The change was confirmed by MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, who reaffirmed their support for clean competition.
