The Eisdell Moore Centre at the University of Auckland has been named a WHO Collaborating Centre for Ear and Hearing Care, acknowledging its global leadership in tackling hearing loss and ear disease affecting over 430 million people.
The designation strengthens efforts to expand equitable, sustainable hearing care, especially in the Pacific region, through child screenings, hearing aid distribution, workforce training, and culturally responsive, community-driven initiatives in partnership with WHO and the Fred Hollows Foundation.
