NTPC, India’s state-owned power company, added 359.585 MW of solar capacity in Gujarat and Rajasthan, raising its total commercial power generation capacity to 85.5 GW.
This includes 243.66 MW from the Khavda-1 Solar PV project, 78 MW from the Nokh Solar PV project, and 37.925 MW from the Khavda Solar Energy Project under Gujarat’s Hybrid Tranche V scheme.
The company, which supplies about one-fourth of India’s electricity, now has 30.9 GW of capacity under construction, including 13.3 GW in renewables, and aims to reach 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032 to support India’s net zero goals.
It continues to expand into green hydrogen, battery storage, e-mobility, and waste-to-energy.
