India’s AM Green and Japan’s Mitsui to explore investment in Andhra Pradesh’s green aluminum project.
India’s AM Green and Japan’s Mitsui & Co. have signed a non-binding agreement to explore a potential investment in AM Green’s green aluminum project in Andhra Pradesh, including an equity stake and offtake deals for low-carbon aluminum.
The project, backed by Greenko Group founders, plans a 1 million tonne per year smelter and 2 million tonne per year alumina refinery, both powered by renewable energy, aiming to become the world’s first fully integrated green aluminum complex.
A separate green ammonia facility is also in development.
Specific financial terms were not disclosed.
