IEEE TWC updates 2025 guidelines: removes 100-word summary, simplifies revision responses, maintains wireless focus, and supports low-income authors.
The IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications is updating its submission guidelines for 2025, removing the 100-word summary requirement and eliminating the need to respond to prior reviewer comments unless resubmitting after a TWC rejection. The journal now requires a point-by-point response only for such cases. It continues to prioritize research where wireless channel characteristics like fading and interference are central, excluding work focused solely on general information theory or security without wireless context. Authors from low-income countries may apply for reduced or waived open access fees. Conference papers may be resubmitted if substantially expanded, with proper citation and, for 8-page or longer papers, a supplementary version comparison. Submissions must be original, not under review elsewhere, and adhere to strict formatting and ethical standards.
