A major construction phase for Auckland’s Eastern Busway will close Ti Rākau Drive and Pakūranga Highway ramps from December 27, 2025, to mid-January 2026, enabling crews to complete months of work in two weeks.
The project includes laying 2,500 tonnes of asphalt, installing 330 meters of kerb, and adding new traffic and street lighting.
Temporary access for local businesses and pedestrians remains via detours, and bus services operate with detours and a relocated stop.
The Rā Hihi flyover stays open.
The Eastern Busway is set to open in 2027 as part of Auckland’s rapid transit network, with future upgrades planned to ease peak-hour congestion.
