Reg Young, a 99-year-old entertainer and longtime star of Clacton’s West Cliff Theatre, has died. Best known as half of the beloved double act the Young Brothers with his brother Bob, he performed at the theatre for over two decades, bringing joy through traditional variety shows. Their career spanned decades, beginning in the 1950s, with performances across the UK and on television. A Royal Navy veteran and longtime postmaster, Reg remained deeply connected to Clacton, where he lived most of his life. He was remembered for his kindness, humor, and dedication to family and community. After retiring, he lived independently into his 90s before moving to a care home in 2022. His legacy endures through the generations he entertained and inspired.
