Pakistani forces detained four men after a human rights seminar, sparking accusations of forced disappearance and rights violations.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) accused Pakistani authorities of forcibly disappearing four individuals, including an elderly man and his two sons, after they attended a Human Rights Day seminar in Quetta on December 10, 2025.
The group said the men were detained at Sariab police station and later held without legal documentation under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order at the deputy commissioner’s office.
The BYC condemned the detentions as arbitrary, unconstitutional, and part of a broader pattern of state repression in Balochistan, alleging collaboration between civilian officials and military-intelligence agencies.
Dr. Sabiha Baloch, a BYC leader, called the actions a violation of human rights, warned that unconditional foreign aid enables abuses, and urged international donors to condition support on human rights progress.
