New Zealand forms a 10-member advisory group to reform its aging care system by mid-2026.
New Zealand has formed a 10-member Aged Care Ministerial Advisory Group, chaired by David Cunliffe, to recommend reforms to its aging care system by mid-2026.
The group will assess funding sustainability, access, integration with health and disability services, and regulatory efficiency, aiming to modernize a system serving about 115,000 older adults annually.
Supported by the Ministry of Health, the advisory body will examine cost-sharing, bed supply, and innovation, with findings expected to guide future bipartisan policy under the National-NZ First Coalition Agreement.
