A Louisiana man was arrested for a planned attack on border agents, inspired by Waco, before any violence occurred.
Micah James Legnon, a 28-year-old former Marine and ex-police officer from Louisiana, was arrested on December 12, 2025, in connection with a thwarted New Year’s Eve terrorist plot. Federal authorities say he was linked to the far-left group Turtle Island Liberation Front and had planned to attack U.S. Border Patrol agents and ICE personnel in New Orleans, inspired by the 1993 Waco siege. He was apprehended while traveling to New Orleans with a loaded assault rifle, pistol, body armor, and a gas canister, and had shared online messages and videos expressing intent to carry out violence. The FBI disrupted the plot before any attack occurred, and no injuries or damage resulted. Legnon faces federal charges including threats across state lines.
