Israel, which designates Islamic Relief Worldwide as a terror entity, stated it would not allow entry to individuals associated with such groups. The MPs, including Iqra Khalid and Jenny Kwan, said they were questioned and asked to sign security waivers, and some reported being physically pushed by border officers. The delegation had obtained electronic travel authorizations and notified Israeli authorities in advance. Canada condemned the denial, with Foreign Minister Anita Anand expressing formal objections, while human rights advocates raised concerns about access and transparency. The incident follows Canada’s September 2025 recognition of Palestinian statehood. The group returned to Jordan.
