A CBS News town hall with Bari Weiss and Charlie Kirk’s widow drew 1.9 million viewers, boosting ratings and social media engagement.
A CBS News town hall featuring editor-in-chief Bari Weiss and Erika Kirk, widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, drew 1.9 million viewers on December 13, 2025, marking a 32% increase in total viewers and 19% gain in the 25-54 demographic compared to CBS’s season-to-date averages.
The one-hour special, focused on faith, grief, and political division, outperformed the prior week’s entertainment programming and generated 185 million social media views, the most for CBS News ever.
Despite a 41% drop in the key 25-54 demo versus prior CBS events, the network attributed the lower ratings to a strong lead-in from the Army-Navy game and skewed year-to-date comparisons due to earlier high-rated sports events.
Online, the event received about 105,000 views on YouTube.
