A Brisbane dance instructor was sentenced for supplying cocaine to a 17-year-old, using her fingernail and later applying it to the teen’s gums.
A 53-year-old Brisbane dance instructor, Sonja Yvonne Middelbosch, was sentenced for supplying cocaine to a 17-year-old girl in May 2024, including using her fingernail to deliver the drug in a pub restroom and later applying it to the teen’s gums after a car breakdown.
A video of the incident, filmed by the victim’s friend, prompted Middelbosch to demand its deletion, warning it could ruin the girl’s career and green card.
The former London-trained instructor, with 25 years of experience, pleaded guilty to multiple drug charges, including aggravated supply to a minor.
She received a six-month suspended prison sentence, was barred from dance schools, and has sold her home amid financial strain.
The judge noted her lack of remorse but acknowledged the severe personal and professional consequences she has faced.
Middelbosch declined to comment after the hearing.
