Team Cherry announced a free 2026 expansion, Sea of Sorrow, for Hollow Knight: Silksong, featuring nautical themes, new areas, bosses, and tools. A free Switch 2 upgrade for the original Hollow Knight will also launch in 2026 with enhanced visuals and performance, available at no cost to current owners. Both releases are set for a broad 2026 window, with a public beta for the Switch 2 update already available on PC.
