OAS mission confirms Honduras elections were orderly with no fraud, urges respect for legal process.
The OAS Permanent Council will meet on December 17, 2025, to review progress on Colombia’s peace process, consider a proposed mission to Haiti, assess a human rights commission candidacy, and discuss the 2026 electoral calendar.
Meanwhile, the OAS Electoral Observation Mission in Honduras, led by former Paraguayan Foreign Minister Eladio Loizaga, has reported that the November 30 and December 7 elections were generally orderly with high turnout, despite technical issues and internal disputes among electoral authorities.
The mission found no evidence of fraud, stressed the integrity of physical tally sheets, and urged the National Electoral Council to accelerate and transparently finalize results.
It warned against unfounded fraud claims and called on all parties to respect the legal process and refrain from inciting unrest, emphasizing that only official bodies can validate outcomes.
