Michele Reiner, inspiration for 'When Harry Met Sally…' ending, died at 68; her husband and son are involved in the case.
Michele Singer Reiner, whose real-life relationship inspired the happy ending of the 1980s film "When Harry Met Sally…," has died at 68. She was found dead alongside her husband, director Rob Reiner, 78, at their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. Their son, Nick Reiner, 32, was taken into custody in connection with the incident. Rob Reiner had said meeting Michele during filming led him to change the movie’s original bittersweet ending to a joyful one. Michele, a photographer and producer, worked on several films and photographed the cover of Donald Trump’s 1987 book "The Art of the Deal." The cause of death is under investigation.
