Maj. Gen. Jeannie Leavitt, first female Air Force fighter pilot, named Dean of Embry-Riddle’s Prescott aviation college for 2026.

Maj. Gen. Jeannie Leavitt, the Air Force’s first female fighter pilot and former Chief of Safety for both the Air Force and Space Force, has been named Dean of the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott campus, starting February 2026. With over 3,000 flight hours, including 300 combat hours, and a 31-year military career, she brings extensive experience in aviation safety, operations, and leadership. She will lead the college’s efforts to train the next generation of aviation professionals.
