On December 9, 2025, Ghana’s Minority MPs protested in Parliament, chanting and attempting to disrupt proceedings after the Speaker refused their request to adjourn over the Kpandai rerun election dispute.
NDC’s Mahdi Gibril condemned the actions as unparliamentary and later retracted a controversial claim that NPP MPs had consumed marijuana-infused toffees, calling it inappropriate.
Gibril also dismissed a survey showing the NPP candidate leading in the Kpandai rerun, asserting the NDC would win regardless.
