China's 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games ended on December 15, 2025, in Shenzhen, marking the first time the events were co-hosted across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the second time held in the same city and year.
The nine-day competition featured 46 sports, 7,824 athletes from 34 delegations, and saw 15 world records and 156 national records broken.
State Councilor Shen Yiqin declared the Games closed, with organizers highlighting progress in para-sports and preparation for the 2026 Asian Para Games and 2028 Paralympics.
The next event is set for Hunan Province in 2029.
