Biffy Clyro's James Johnston won’t tour in 2026 due to mental health and addiction issues; Naomi Macleod will replace him.
Biffy Clyro bassist James Johnston will not join the band on its 2026 Futique Tour due to ongoing mental health challenges and addiction, which he has kept private. In a December 15 statement, Johnston expressed regret over missing the tour, including a headline show at London’s Finsbury Park, and confirmed he has begun professional treatment. He thanked bandmates Simon Neil and Ben Johnston for their support. Naomi Macleod will temporarily fill in on bass. The tour, beginning January 9 in Belfast, includes UK, European, Australian, and New Zealand dates. The band’s 2025 album *Futique* reached No. 1 in the UK.
