Two men sentenced to two-year suspended terms after pleading guilty to burglaries, including a home invasion, in Swindon and Highworth.

Two men, Joseph Conway, 30, and Michael Kavanagh, 27, were given suspended two-year prison sentences after pleading guilty to multiple burglaries in Swindon on September 24. The crimes included a home invasion where a victim barricaded himself in his bedroom and two other homes in Highworth that were ransacked and stripped of jewellery. Police responded to 999 calls, pursued the suspects, and located them running along railway tracks near the A420 with drone assistance. Stolen jewellery was recovered from hidden spots in their vehicle. Authorities credited victims' bravery and cooperation for aiding the swift arrest and prosecution, reaffirming their commitment to taking burglary reports seriously.
