Students donated GH¢8,000 to Ghana’s Medical Trust Fund for chronic illness patients.
On December 12, 2025, students from Mothercare School in Accra donated GH¢8,000 to Ghana’s Medical Trust Fund, collected through weekly devotion offerings, to support patients with costly chronic illnesses like cancer and kidney failure not fully covered by national health insurance.
The donation, described as a “widow’s mite,” was led by Principal Peace Abasah Addo and praised by GMTF Administrator Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku as a powerful act of compassion and social responsibility.
The fund, part of President John Mahama’s MahamaCares initiative, aims to improve specialized healthcare access and prevent families from falling into poverty due to medical expenses.
