1 crore ex-gratia payment from the TATA Group or Rs.
4 lakh Gujarat government aid, attributed to communication issues.
Andrews emphasized families’ demand for transparency over compensation, noting ongoing international investigation by India’s AAIB and the U.S. NTSB, with flight data being reviewed in Washington, DC.
He criticized premature efforts to have families sign legal releases, called such actions improper, and warned against speculation.
The AAIB’s preliminary report found both engines failed within 90 seconds of takeoff, leading to a rapid descent.
Andrews’ team is pursuing legal avenues, including U.S. Freedom of Information Act requests, to ensure accountability and truth, as the emotional toll on families remains severe.
