Russia arrests 10 over alleged sabotage by coercing fraud victims into attacking infrastructure.
Russia’s FSB has detained 10 people in five regions over alleged sabotage linked to Ukrainian intelligence, claiming victims of telecom fraud were coerced into damaging infrastructure after being falsely accused of funding Ukraine’s military.
Suspects, who took out loans totaling 300,000 to 1.6 million rubles, were pressured via Telegram by impostors posing as law enforcement to carry out attacks on vehicles and critical systems.
The FSB said they confessed and warned of up to 20 years in prison.
Meanwhile, Russia reported shooting down 17 HIMARS rockets, one Grom-2 missile, and 545 drones in the past day.
