Oman has launched an electronic system for resolving rental disputes, effective immediately, under Ministerial Decision No. 115/2025. The system allows parties to file claims and submit documents digitally, with all proceedings—applications, hearings, and decisions—conducted online. Applications must be registered within seven days and hearings scheduled by the committee chair, with electronic notifications sent to parties. Paper filings are permitted only if electronic submission fails. Electronic documents and decisions hold the same legal weight as physical ones, provided they meet cybersecurity and legal standards. The system ensures procedural fairness, protects the right to defense, and supports Oman’s broader digital government transformation.
