Nigerian pastor denies demanding money from power minister for political help; case under DSS review.
Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of Nigeria’s INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, denied allegations he demanded N150 million or musical instruments from Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu for spiritual help in securing the Oyo State governorship.
Speaking in Lagos, Ayodele dismissed the claims as baseless, calling Adelabu a “small boy” who misunderstands the situation.
He said Adelabu approached him in desperation, denied asking for money or making prophecies for gain, and questioned the value of the alleged sum.
Adelabu, who has run twice for governor and plans to run again in 2027, filed a petition with the DSS accusing Ayodele of blackmail and false prophecies after refusing demands.
The DSS is reviewing the case, but no findings have been released.
