A former Cumbria Police officer, Thomas Aiston, 35, was found to have committed gross misconduct after pleading guilty in March 2024 to creating indecent images of children while a student officer.
The misconduct hearing concluded his actions severely breached public trust and damaged police credibility.
He received a community order, a £300 fine, mandatory rehabilitation, sexual offender registration, and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Had he not resigned, he would have been dismissed.
He has been barred from policing by the College of Policing.
