Chiltern Railways will run a farewell charity train on Feb. 22, 2025, to honor retiring 1970s coaches, with proceeds benefiting Railway Children.

Chiltern Railways will run a farewell charity train journey on February 22, 2025, to mark the retirement of its British Rail Mark III coaches, in service since the 1970s. The trip, from Banbury to Stourbridge and London Marylebone, will be organized with the Branch Line Society, with proceeds supporting Railway Children, a charity aiding vulnerable children on rail networks in the UK, Tanzania, and India. The coaches are being replaced by a modern fleet by March 2026. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis via the Branch Line Society’s website.
