Australian firm Breathe Life Sciences to open UK medicinal cannabis facility in Scotland by 2026, creating 100 jobs.
Breathe Life Sciences, an Australian medicinal cannabis company, plans to open a manufacturing and distribution center in Scotland’s Borders region by late 2026, creating up to 100 jobs over three years.
The facility, which will not grow cannabis, will produce medicines including psilocybin and MDMA for clinical use, supported by a £350,000 grant and £500,000 loan from South of Scotland Enterprise.
The project aims to strengthen the UK’s domestic supply of NHS-eligible cannabis-based treatments amid rising demand in the country’s fast-growing medicinal cannabis market, now valued at £250 million annually.
