Uttar Pradesh's marriage scheme has approved 21,000 weddings since April 2025, aiding underprivileged families with cash grants.
Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Mass Marriage Scheme has approved over 21,000 weddings and conducted more than 14,000 since the 2025–26 fiscal year began, far exceeding its 57,000-target, with over 1.2 lakh applications received.
The program, launched in 2017, has supported over 400,000 underprivileged families, primarily Dalit, OBC, and minority daughters, with Rs 1 lakh per couple for wedding expenses and direct cash transfers to brides.
Over Rs 2,200 crore has been spent since inception, including Rs 550 crore this year, aiming to ensure dignified marriages and social inclusion across religious communities.
