At 71, Singaporean darts player Paul Lim became the oldest player to win a match at the 2025 World Darts Championship, defeating Jeffrey de Graaf 3-1 in the first round.
The victory, his 27th appearance at the event, extends a record he set in 2020 and sets up a second-round clash with world number two Luke Humphries, whom Lim previously beat in 2020.
Lim, known for his 1990 nine-dart finish, praised Humphries as a top player and acknowledged the emotional challenge of facing a man he admires.
The tournament, now the largest in history with 128 players and a £5 million prize pool, continues with other first-round winners including Gary Anderson, Luke Littler, and Wessel Nijman.
A los 71 años, Paul Lim se convirtió en el ganador más viejo en el Campeonato Mundial de Dardos 2025, venciendo a Jeffrey de Graaf por 3-1.
