The National Judicial Policy Making Committee in Pakistan, chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, has directed measures to ensure detainees are presented before a magistrate within 24 hours, aiming to combat enforced disappearances.
The committee endorsed a Commercial Litigation Corridor, national AI guidelines for courts, and nationwide e-filing, while praising the Lahore High Court for clearing over 465,000 cases.
It mandated resolution of all inheritance cases from 2019 within 30 days and approved reforms to reduce litigation in commercial and revenue matters.
Over Rs2.58 billion was allocated to the Access to Justice Fund, and solarization of courts will be expanded with provincial funding.
