The Blackhawks recalled Nick Lardis after Connor Bedard's shoulder injury, sidelining him for at least one game.
The Chicago Blackhawks recalled forward Nick Lardis from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs after star center Connor Bedard sustained a right shoulder injury late in a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues. Bedard, who had 19 goals and 25 assists in 31 games, was hit by Blues center Brayden Schenn with 0.8 seconds left and is sidelined for at least Saturday’s game against Detroit. Coach Jeff Blashill said more details on the injury’s severity will be available soon. Lardis, a 20-year-old third-round pick from 2023, had 13 goals and 13 assists in 24 AHL games and could make his NHL debut soon. His arrival aims to bolster the Blackhawks’ struggling offense, especially with Bedard’s potential absence affecting his chances to play for Canada’s 2026 Winter Olympics team.
