The Timmins Symphony Orchestra, led by new conductor Andrei Popkov, held a holiday concert on December 6 featuring classic carols and original works, highlighted by a children’s choir performance and a homecoming for local francophone singer Céleste Lévis.
Lévis, who performed her new single “Noël chez nous,” received the city’s Heart of Gold Award and announced she and her husband are expecting their second child.
The concert, praised for its cohesion and emotional depth, concluded with arrangements by former conductor Joshua Wood.
A free follow-up concert by the Second Wind Adult Concert Band is scheduled for December 13 at the Timmins Public Library.
